The Legionär edition was created as a reminder of the importance of the Czechoslovak legions for the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918. Our volunteer military units on Russian territory at one time held the entire Trans-Siberian Railway against the Bolsheviks. Approximately 67,000 legionnaires returned by sea from Vladivostok until November 1920. Many did not live to return and others were sentenced to heavy penalties after 1948.
