ARCTIC Freezer 36

ARCTIC Freezer 36
ARCTIC Freezer 36 is a dual-fan cooler designed to keep processors stable while being easy to install. It uses proven components and solutions, from a simple fan mounting system to a frame construction designed to reduce CPU deformation. This version comes with two 120mm PWM-controlled fans and offers compatibility with current and upcoming Intel and AMD sockets. This multi-platform support has a practical benefit – the Freezer 36 can also be used with the upcoming LGA1851 socket without needing to purchase new accessories. This is ideal for users who plan to upgrade their processor later and want to avoid additional costs.
Key features of the ARCTIC Freezer 36 CPU cooler
- Aluminium top plate covering the heat pipes
- Tested on high-load Intel i9 processors
- Compatible with current and future Intel and AMD sockets
- Click-in fan mounting mechanism
- Contact frame that reduces CPU deformation
- Low-friction fluid dynamic bearings
- Heatsink with side air intake
- Fans with higher static pressure suitable for dense fins
Aluminium cover and tested on demanding Intel CPUs
The top aluminium plate covers the ends of the heat pipes, which also protects the soldered joints from dirt build-up. The same cooler model has also been tested directly by Intel on i9-series processors, which often operate near their thermal limits.
Easy fan installation
The fans attach to the heatsink using a click-in system, which eliminates the need to handle wire clips. This makes it possible to easily remove the fans even when the cooler is already mounted in the system, simplifying maintenance and any potential replacements.
Contact frame and stable pressure
A contact frame for LGA1700 and LGA1851 sockets is also included in the package. This distributes the contact pressure more evenly than the standard ILM and reduces long-term stress on the PCB and the processor package. The cooler screws directly into the backplate, which simplifies installation and maintains stable contact pressure.
Low-friction bearings
The fluid dynamic bearings used are a combination of an alloy and a lubricant developed in Germany. The result is reduced friction, less heat generation, and a longer lifespan for the rotating parts. At the same time, lubricant leakage is minimised, which keeps noise levels stable over the long term.
Optimised airflow through the heatsink
The heatsink has an open-sided fin design, which allows the rear fan to draw in air from the case. This airflow improves passage between the fins and increases cooling efficiency. The P12-series fans generate higher static pressure, which is ideal for dense fin stacks, ensuring the air actually passes through the heatsink instead of just flowing around it.
