Aromaniac Guatemala Tres Maria

Coffee from Guatemala

Due to the excellent climatic conditions, the taste of Guatemalan coffee is so interesting and balanced that it is often ranked by experts as one of the best coffees in the world. It is grown at different altitudes, offering a much wider and more interesting choice of beans. As early as 1750 the coffee tree was transported by the Jesuits to Guatemala, but only as an ornamental plant. Fifty years later, Guatemala suffered huge losses due to an attack by the saranchata on its vast indigo plantations, its main agricultural crop at the time, which was crowned by the decline of the European chemical industry's interest in indigo over the next fifty years. And so the Guatemalan government decided to use coffee as a new primary crop for export to Europe and in 1868, in support of this strategic move, distributed more than a million coffee seeds to local farmers. Guatemalan coffees are characterised by a sweet and balanced flavour with a pleasant acidity, which is complemented by wine notes from the Huehuetenango region.

About Guatemala

Coffee cultivation in Guatemala is divided into 8 main regions, 5 of which are volcanic mountain ranges. Each region offers slightly different climatic conditions due to the different altitudes, giving each region's coffee its own distinctive taste. The Guatemala Tres Maria coffee we offer you comes from the Huehuetenango region, one of the three non-volcanic origins. This area offers the most moisture and cultivation at the highest altitude, up to 2000 m. n. m., normally around 1500 - 1800 m. n. m., which is mainly due to hot humid currents from Mexico.

Aromaniac Roastery

Since 2007, when they started with coffee, (they) drank too much. And it was the opening of our own roastery that gradually started to make more and more sense. He truly believes that anyone can fall for the taste and smell of coffee. And that's what they're worried about now. They make sure that coffee finds everyone, because one day it will find everyone. Seriously. You just have to know how to use it. The beans are roasted here in small batches every day. It's to keep it fresh. So you won't get any that are more than a few days old. Aromaniac doesn't want to offer you anything they don't drink themselves. That's why they carefully choose what goes through the roaster and what you get in your cup at home.
