ISOFIX is the international standard for child seat attachmenta. For ISOFIX, the car seat is connected to the vehicle structure.
i-Size is a European safety and child restraint regulation, valid since 2013. The aim is to increase the protection of children during transport and eliminate the risk of potential collisions. The right i-Size car seat is always compatible with a vehicle whose seats are manufactured in accordance with the i-Size standard, with internal multi-point seat belts and its conception and shape to best protect the child against impact in the case of a collision. The i-Size car seat is designed for children up to 105cm, which is about 4 years old, and is always fitted with an ISOFIX system.
The ISOFIX Top Tether is a seat mounting system. Car seats fitted with this feature can be attached to both the vehicle's construction and the ceiling of the car so that the seat is more secure, reducing the head load in the case of a frontal impact. As with ISOFIX, the car must be equipped with the required anchor points. These are either located behind the car's seat or in the boot.
Adjustable car seats can be tilted so that the child will not fall asleep while in the car.
