The ASUS RP-AX50 WiFi extender supports the modern WiFi 6 standard, which brings greater capacity and efficiency to your wireless network. This standard effectively reduces data transfer latency. This gives you a stable connection for streaming and gaming on all connected devices. The extender operates on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, supporting 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac, and 802.11ax standards. The design includes two fixed external antennas that broadcast the signal.
Network management
You can choose a single network name for your entire home or assign different names to individual bands. A single network name (SSID) helps maintain seamless roaming without signal dropouts as you move between rooms. On the other hand, splitting the names helps to separate traffic for specific devices. The device supports up to 2 SSIDs. You can adjust the settings according to the specific needs of your network infrastructure.
Wide compatibility
This extender works with almost all WiFi routers, modems, and cable routers on the market. You don't need to own a router of the same brand to extend your network, which simplifies integration into your existing home infrastructure. Setup is quick and doesn't require complex configurations. The device is fully compatible with Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7, Mac OS, and Linux operating systems.
Connection
OFDMA technology divides channels and transmits signals to multiple end devices simultaneously. This transmission method significantly reduces latency and increases the capacity of the wireless network. This means more smart devices can connect to the network without any loss of speed. OFDMA operates within the WiFi 6 standard and optimises signal distribution on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for all active devices.
Data transfer
The device operates with a total dual-band WiFi speed of up to 1501Mbps. On the 5GHz band, it achieves a transfer speed of up to 1201Mbps, while on the 2.4GHz band, it transfers data at up to 300Mbps. These parameters provide sufficient bandwidth for demanding network activities.
Wired connection
The extender includes one gigabit LAN port for connecting wired devices, such as game consoles or smart TVs. This port also serves for access point mode, where the device creates a WiFi network from an Ethernet connection. Switching between extender and access point modes is easy to configure. There is one RJ-45 connector available for the cable connection, which supports a speed of 1Gbit/s for stable data transfer.
