The basis is the 2011-3 socket for powerful Intel Xeon processors. Its features are especially suited for small and medium businesses as a storage server. For demanding users, broadband connectivity with Intel SFP+ dual network controllers is available to increase the throughput and efficiency of the data centre. These can transfer data at speeds of up to 10Gb/s.

Excellent extensibility with a PIKE solution
The powerful processor is supplemented by up to 8 DDR4 memories with a maximum frequency of 2400MHz. For data storage, 10 SATA 6Gb/s connectors are immediately available. An alternative configuration with 9 SATA III connectors and one M.2 slot for fast SSD drives can also be selected.
The new generation of Asus boards is equipped with a new PIKE solution for users who want to use several PIKE II cards in order to increase its extensibility. There are six PCI Express 3.0 slots available for a variety of expanding components. For example, you can add a supported MIO-892 sound card with superb sound quality and up to 7.1 channel audio.
