Visibility elements are small and commonly underestimated accessories that can in many cases save your health or even life. They come in handy when walking, cycling, and doing any other activities in the vicinity of moving motor vehicles.

In the Czech Republic, pedestrians are required by law to wear reflective elements starting from February 2016. The obligation applies in the following circumstances:
- you are moving outside of a town or village,
- in poor lighting conditions,
- on the road shoulder or roadside,
- your location is not illuminated by any street lights.
Your clothing or bags must be equipped with at least one reflective element, visible from the front and rear (sufficiently large and not covered by anything else). Many countries do not have such legal requirements, but reflective elements are still highly recommended if you care about your safety.
Visibility accessory types
- Vest - a mandatory part of automobile equipment; in many countries, vests must be available for all car passengers. A vest comes in handy if you move near motor vehicles and want to make sure the drivers will definitely see you.
- Backpack cover - something to consider if you wear a backpack over a reflective vest, as the backpack covers a substantial portion of it, making its reflective properties moot.
- Reflective band - provides adequate visibility in low light and you can easily fit it into a pocket, backpack, or bag, so it’s always available when you need it.
- Reflective tape - great if you need to highlight outlines of cars, vans, or trailers.
- Reflective tag - effectively highlights any important spots you need to be clearly visible. You can attach them to straps, zippers, backpacks, or anywhere else.
