Axes

Choose your axe depending on what you are planning to use it for

• Compact - suitable for camping and hiking. They have a short handle and fit easily into a backpack.
• Classic - suitable for all wood-related work, such as chopping wood and chipping, but also for various camping activities.
• Splitting - hand-held axes for splitting small logs and chopping chips; may have a long or short handle. The smaller ones are also suitable for camping.
• Splitting mauls - have broad wedge-shaped blade suitable for chopping large logs and cutting off branches. Their dull edges make them easier to pull out of the wood block. Suitable for preparation of large amounts of wood.

What you should know before working with an axe

• Clean and maybe sharpen your axe after you finish your work.
• Attach the axe sheath before storing it away.
• To protect the axe from corrosion, oil the blade before storing it away for a longer time.
• Store your axe in a place with low humidity.
• Keep the blade edge away from your body when handling the axe.
• When working with an axe, we recommend to use safety glasses, gloves and work boots. A helmet may also be a good idea, especially if you venture into the woods.
