Beefeater is the historical, colloquial term for the Royal Guards outside the Tower of London. Its origin is rather uncertain. What is certain, however, is that Beefeater is a superb British gin with a recipe that also has a rich history behind it, with roots dating back to the 1860s. It's built on traditional juniper, complemented by fresh notes of lemon and orange peel, subtly spicy coriander seeds and ginger, sweet marzipan notes from almonds, floral tones of sage and orris root, a bittersweet woody touch of liquorice, and angelica root. Angelica seeds then add a floral, hoppy finish. A traditional London gin – that's Beefeater London Gin. It has a spicy, fruity aroma with distinct notes of juniper. On the palate, it's pleasantly dry, with fresh citrus and herbal notes that pair perfectly with the juniper aroma.
