The Salmonella Typhi and Paratyphi Rapid Test Cartridge (Stool) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Salmonella Typhi and Salmonella Paratyphi antigens in human stool samples, providing results within 5 minutes with 97.5% accuracy. The incubation period is usually 8 to 14 days, but periods of 3 days or more than 60 days have been reported. The test is intended for professional in-vitro diagnostic use.

Salmonellosis
Salmonellosis is a bacterial infection caused by the bacteria Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi that attacks the digestive tract. The most common source of infection is contaminated food, especially meat, eggs or dairy products. Symptoms of salmonellosis include fever, diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain, which usually appear 6 to 72 hours after infection. Most people recover without special treatment, but for some, especially young children, the elderly or people with weakened immune systems, the infection can be severe. Prevention consists of thorough hand washing and proper food preparation and storage.
Who the test is suitable for and when to use it
The main symptoms of salmonellosis include

How the test works
- Sampling: Collect the stool sample in a clean, dry container. Unscrew the cap of the tube. For a solid stool sample, prick it in at least three places to collect approximately 50mg of stool. For a liquid stool sample, aspirate the stool sample into a dropper.
- Sample application: Return the cap to the tube, tighten it firmly and shake vigorously to mix the sample liquid. Leave to rest for 2 minutes.
- Reaction: Unscrew the top cap of the sample tube and drop 3 drops of sample into each sample well (S).
- Evaluation of results:After about 5 minutes, you can check the result.
How to read the result
- Positive: Two coloured lines will be displayed, with any shade of the test line indicating a positive result for Salmonellosis. We recommend a visit to the doctor for further examination.
- Negative:A coloured line appears only in the control area - the test did not detect salmonellosis. However, if symptoms persist, a consultation with a doctor is recommended.
- If the control line does not appear, the test was performed incorrectly and must be repeated with a new test.
