It is used for local disinfection of skin and mucous membranes.
Dosage and method of use
Betadine can be used either concentrated (undiluted) or diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10 or 1:100.
In concentrated (undiluted) form, the product is applied to disinfect the skin. Leave on intact skin for 1 to 2 minutes.
Diluted is used to disinfect wounds, in the treatment of bacterial and fungal skin diseases and to disinfect mucous membranes.
Always dilute just before use and the solution should be used as soon as possible. The diluted solution cannot be stored.
It can be used once or several times a day to treat wounds. Do not use Betadine for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor.
Contraindications
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the product. If you suffer from thyroid disease, do not use this product unless its use is strictly prescribed. In newborns and young children, the skin solution should be used only on the advice of a doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you think, that you might be pregnant, or you're planning to get pregnant, check with your doctor or pharmacist first, before using this product.
Notice
Betadine® 100 mg/ml Skin Solution is an oral medication. Contains povidonum iodinatum. The dark brown colour of Betadine® skin solution is a sign of its effectiveness. If the solution begins to discolour, its antimicrobial effectiveness decreases. Decomposition of the solution is promoted by exposure to light and temperatures above 40 °C.
Storage
Store at temperatures up to 25 ºC, in the original packaging to protect the product from light.
Do not use this product after the expiry date on the box. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated.
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children.
Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your
pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.
