BrainMax Anti-Snoring Strips

Medical-grade anti-snoring strips to improve your sleep quality. They are also excellent for combating mouth breathing.
Why is breathing through your nose important?
Nose breathing can help us overcome or reduce fatigue, morning grogginess, waking up to urinate, brain fog, asthma, allergies, sleep apnoea, reduced performance, poor concentration, snoring, and even high blood pressure. It also prevents as many impurities from entering the body.
The strips force you to keep your mouth closed while wearing them, which has several positive effects:
- Improved sleep quality
- Eliminates snoring
- Promotes nose breathing
Breathing
- Breathing through your mouth leads to “over-breathing” or excessive breathing. The air entering our body is not restricted as it would be if it flowed through the small nostrils. This means more air enters the body than it requires at that moment. At the same time, we exhale a larger amount of CO2, which leads to a low concentration. The brain then cannot signal haemoglobin to release oxygen to the necessary tissues. So, although we have an excess of oxygen, the low level of carbon dioxide prevents us from using it.
- It's also important to realise that when we breathe through our nose, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for regeneration, rest, and digestion. In contrast, mouth breathing is associated with the sympathetic nervous system, which is in charge of action, fight, or flight.
Try this
Dr Buteyko's morning control measurement for blood CO2 levels:
- Take a gentle, quiet breath in, then a gentle, quiet breath out.
- Pinch your nose with your fingers and time how long it takes until you feel the first urge to breathe in again. This should be a comfortable breath hold; do not force it.
- Release your nose and breathe in. The inhalation should again be gentle and calm. If it is sharp and loud, you held your breath for too long and the test is invalid.
- According to Dr Buteyko, 60 seconds is a sign of perfect health, corresponding to a 6.5% concentration of CO2 in the blood.
- Over 40 seconds is the time for healthy people without asthmatic problems.
- 20–40 seconds means most asthmatic symptoms are gone, but they may reappear if triggered.
- Under 10 seconds suggests asthma and associated physical difficulties, such as shortness of breath, coughing, or restless sleep.
Application
Clean and thoroughly dry the area around your mouth. Remove the protective film. Close your mouth so that your lips are fully touching. Place the “cross” vertically with the centre over your mouth. Press down on both ends and gently rub to secure.
