• Power cord - these devices need to be connected to a power outlet in order to work
• Batteries - typical for portable players, commonly use type C dry cell batteries

Input types

• USB - allows playback from USB flash drives, smartphones, tablets and other compatible devices.
• AUX -  additional cable connection, typically with a 3.5mm connector; used to play music from MP3/4 devices or laptops.
• Bluetooth - a built-in interface for wireless music playback that will come in handy if you have a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.

Other factors important when choosing a CD player

• Player performance - higher performance means higher volume and better audio quality in both power and richness. It's particularly noticeable with low frequency sounds - bass.
• FM tuner - allows the player to receive radio waves and tune in FM stations
• PPL FM tuner - enables reception of digital signal as well
• 3.5mm jack output - used to connect headphones
• Portability - Some CD players are more portable than others, like discmans. Micro systems, on the other hand, are designed to be stationary.
• CDG support - these are music discs with visuals. A must-have for passionate karaoke fans.
