Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 130/650mm AZ mirror

Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 130/650mm AZ mirror
Celestron has invented a handheld telescope with StarSense Explorer - the first telescope that uses your smartphone to analyse the night sky and calculate its position in real time. StarSense Explorer is ideal for beginners thanks to the app's user-friendly interface and detailed tutorials. It's like having your own personal guide through the night sky. With StarSense, finding objects has never been easier, faster or more accurate. The ultra-stable altazimuth mount provides a solid base for StarSense. Slip clutches and slow-motion controls with gears in both axes help you move the telescope smoothly and find your target.

Key Features of the Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ
- The telescope is suitable for beginners
- Harness the power of your smartphone and take a guided tour of the night sky
- Award-winning and patented StarSense sky recognition technology that uses your smartphone to analyse star patterns and calculate their position in real time.
- A 130mm Newtonian reflector with highly reflective layers and enough light-capturing capability to view all the best celestial objects.
- The StarSense Explorer Powered by SkySafari™ app helps you see planets, brighter nebulae and galaxies, star clusters and binary stars from the city.
- A manual altazimuth mount with smooth two-axis slow-motion control makes it easy to follow the on-screen arrows to the desired target.
Patented StarSense sky recognition technology
StarSense Explorer uses patented technology and your smartphone to pinpoint where the telescope is pointing in the night sky. LISA (Lost in Space Algorithm), similar to those that use satellites in orbit to orient themselves properly, helps the application compare star patterns, that it detects overhead, with its internal database.

Dazzling image with high quality optics
With a large 130 mm (5-inch) diameter objective lens, this telescope has enough light-capturing capability to bring out the impressive details of celestial objects. You can expect sharp and clear views of the four Galilean moons of Jupiter, its cloud belts and the Great Red Spot, Saturn's rings, the trapezoid nebula in Orion and the magnificent Pleiades Open Star Cluster. Highly reflective layers on both the primary and secondary mirrors further improve visibility.
