Some dashcams allow connection to a mobile phone or tablet using a special application. The connection usually takes place wirelessly via Wi-Fi, where the camera creates its own network to which the phone connects. After pairing, the app allows you to watch a live feed from the camera, browse and play back previously recorded footage, or change various camera settings, such as video quality or G-sensor sensitivity. An important feature is also the ability to download selected video recordings directly to the phone's memory, which facilitates their backup or sharing without the need to remove the memory card from the camera.
