Cut Width Adjustment

Cut width adjustment on a coverstitch machine is a function that allows you to set the distance between the cutting knife and the needles. This setting determines how wide a strip of fabric the machine cuts off from the edge before the stitch is sewn. Changing the cut width is useful when working with different types of materials. For thin and delicate fabrics, a smaller cut width is usually chosen so that the stitch firmly encloses the edge, while for thicker or fraying materials, a wider cut can ensure that the fabric edge does not 'peek out' from under the stitch. Correct adjustment contributes to creating a flat and professionally looking seam that does not curl.
