Silica is an inorganic compound used in car shampoos and foams to form a ceramic protective coating. This ingredient provides extremely strong and long-lasting protection for the paintwork against water, dirt and chemical damage. Silica forms a hard, glassy layer that also increases gloss and improves mechanical resistance of the surface. It is mainly used in so-called ceramic shampoos or as an additive in maintenance products for nano-ceramic protection.
