Dosage and method of use
Use:
One sachet of Diosmolyte contains diosmectite and electrolytes. Diosmectite is a type of natural clay characterized by a crystalline structure of very thin layered strips with high adsorption capacity, which allows diosmectite to bind to. fluids in the intestinal tract, thereby thickening the consistency of the excreted fluid and slowing down emptying.
Diosmolyte can also reduce the risk of dehydration due to diarrhoea and help return the hydrosaline balance to normal thanks to a balanced dose of electrolytes. The adsorptive ability of diosmectite also allows Diosmolyte to interact with glycoproteins on the mucosa covering the gastroduodenal wall. By modifying their physical properties, it creates a protective layer that protects against - excessive acid secretion and substances damaging the gastrointestinal tract.
Dosing:
During the first 3 days:
Children over 2 years old: Maximum of 4 sachets per day
Adults:
Maximum 6 sachets per day. Then continue 1/2 dose until diarrhea is completely resolved.
