The technology of the Dyson Supersonic Nural HD16 hair dryer is built on advanced sensors and smart automation that adapts to your habits and your hair's needs. Scalp protect mode uses a Time of Flight sensor that constantly measures the distance between the hair dryer's head and your scalp. This allows it to automatically adjust to maintain an ideal temperature that preserves the natural hydration of the scalp and promotes healthy, shiny hair. A Hall sensor recognises which attachment you are currently using and, based on previous uses, automatically adjusts the temperature and airflow settings to your preferences.

A built-in accelerometer can detect when the hair dryer is idle or placed on a surface, at which point it immediately reduces airflow and deactivates the heater, saving energy and extending the life of the appliance. The drying itself is handled by a powerful Dyson Hyperdymium motor that dries hair efficiently and quickly without excessive heat exposure. In combination with Air Multiplier technology, ambient air is drawn in and tripled to create a powerful but precisely controlled jet that reaches right to the roots of the hair. Intelligent heat control then uses precise sensors to continuously monitor the temperature of the exiting air to prevent overheating and damage to the hair fibres, thereby protecting their natural structure and shine.

The Dyson Supersonic Nural HD16 hair dryer brings even more control thanks to the scalp protect button. When this feature is switched on, the hair dryer automatically lowers the temperature when it gets close to your head, protecting the scalp from overheating and promoting a healthy environment for hair growth. If you want full control over the temperature, you can simply switch the mode off and set the temperature manually. In this mode, the illumination of the transparent capsule is also deactivated when compatible attachments are fitted. The hair dryer offers three precisely defined speed settings: high for fast drying and styling, medium for regular everyday drying and low for gentle diffusing, for example when finishing a style or working on sensitive areas.

The temperature settings are also adapted to different needs, from high heat output to gentle drying. You can choose between 100°C for fast styling, 80°C for regular drying, 60°C for a gentle approach to fine hair or diffusing with the diffuser, and 28°C for a constant stream of cool air. There's also a handy cold shot function, which allows you to instantly cool the air to 28°C. This feature is ideal for setting your style after styling, as it helps to lock in the shape and shine you've just created.

The diffuser is appreciated by owners of wavy and curly hair, as it distributes the airflow evenly and simulates natural drying, which significantly reduces frizz and adds bounce and volume to the hair. The styling concentrator is ideal for precision styling; its wide but thin blade of air allows for precise shaping of individual strands without disturbing the rest of the style. The gentle air attachment is designed for sensitive hair or scalp, providing a gentle but still effective airflow that is comfortable even when drying from a short distance. For final touches and a smooth finish, there's the smoothing nozzle, which tames unruly strands and eliminates frizz. This leaves hair straight, shiny and natural-looking, without static and unwanted volume.
