Online topology for constant protection
The Eaton UPS 9SX uninterruptible power supply operates on an online double-conversion topology, which continuously regenerates the supply voltage. It first converts the incoming AC voltage to DC and then back to AC with a pure sine wave. This process eliminates all grid disturbances such as spikes, sags or frequency deviations. The switchover to battery power occurs with zero delay, so connected devices experience no outage. The system actively protects sensitive electronics, servers and medical equipment from damage.
Uninterruptible power supply flexibility
The UPS offers the option to extend the backup time by connecting up to four external battery modules (EBMs). The modules can be connected during full operation without needing to shut down the UPS or connected devices. Upon connection, the system automatically detects the new batteries and immediately recalculates the available backup time, which is shown on the LCD. This modularity provides scalability for future growth and allows the system to be adapted to specific requirements for autonomous operation during longer power outages.
Advanced management and monitoring
The graphical LCD provides a detailed, real-time overview of the operating status. It displays key data such as load level, battery charge status, estimated backup time, input and output voltage and frequency. The multi-language interface simplifies navigation and configuration. For remote management and integration into IT systems, it includes a slot for an optional network card. With the card and Eaton's Intelligent Power software, the UPS integrates into virtualisation platforms and automates responses to power outages, such as the controlled shutdown of servers.
Uninterruptible power supply connectivity
To power connected technology, it offers six IEC C13 output sockets. It divides the sockets into two switchable groups for load prioritisation and the sequential shutdown of less critical devices. In addition to power, the unit also protects the data line via an RJ-45 port, which filters surges on the network cable. For communication with servers and workstations, it uses standard USB and serial RS-232 ports. These ports, in conjunction with Eaton IPP software, ensure the automated and safe shutdown of systems during a prolonged power failure.
