The FiiO BTR13 is a portable headphone amplifier and a successor to the BTR3K. It features a dual CS43131 chip with a fully balanced output, delivering more than double the output power. It also has a QCC5125 Bluetooth chip, which supports Bluetooth 5.1. While both devices have an unbalanced 3.5mm output, the BTR13 introduces a new 4.4mm balanced jack, replacing the original 2.5mm one. For a more pleasant user experience, the amplifier is now equipped with a 0.96" IPS display instead of just an indicator. It also offers a customisable equaliser that applies to all 3 playback modes: Bluetooth, PC, and PHONE. The difference between PC and PHONE mode is that in PC mode, the USB-C is used for both data transfer and powering the device. In PHONE mode, the USB-C serves only as an audio input, and the device is powered by its internal battery. Compared to its predecessor, the BTR13 offers playback up to 96kHz quality with a bitrate of up to 990 when using the LDAC codec. The package also includes a clip for more convenient outdoor use.
