FiiO FT13 natural

FiiO FT13 natural
The FiiO FT13 are closed-back over-ear headphones equipped with 60mm dynamic drivers featuring a composite diaphragm made from wood, carbon and wool fibres. The W-shaped diaphragm increases the effective vibrating area by 25.8% and, together with the 25mm CCAW voice coil, supports the driver's high efficiency, fast response and detailed reproduction. The earcups, made from natural Purpleheart wood, undergo a 90-day natural ageing process during which they acquire their characteristic colour. The closed-back acoustic design uses a chamber to suppress standing waves, an absorbent material and a U-shaped damping tube, achieving passive ambient noise reduction of up to 26dB.

Drivers with composite diaphragm
At the core of the FiiO FT13 are 60mm dynamic drivers with a diaphragm made from birch wood pulp supplemented with carbon and wool fibres. The carbon fibres increase the diaphragm's rigidity, while the addition of wool fibres contributes to the resulting sound character. The diaphragm has a thickness of 0.1mm and its W-shaped profile increases the effective vibrating area by 25.8%. The Japanese CCAW voice coil has a diameter of 25mm and uses a 0.035mm thick wire along with a lightweight KSV former. The headphones operate in a frequency range of 7Hz to 40kHz, with an impedance of 32Ohm and a sensitivity of 98dB/mW at 1kHz.
Wooden earcups and closed acoustic design
The FiiO FT13 earcups are made from natural Purpleheart wood from South America, and each piece undergoes a 90-day natural ageing process. The natural grain and shade of the wood create an individual look for each earcup. The closed-back design uses a chamber to suppress standing waves, an absorbent material in the rear cavity and a U-shaped damping tube. Together, these elements provide passive ambient noise reduction of up to 26dB. The magnesium alloy frame is complemented by a three-axis adaptive design and earpads made of lambskin or suede.
Hybrid cable with 1000 conductors
The detachable 1.5-metre cable uses an eight-strand braided construction made of 1000 conductors in total. Half are made from Furukawa secondarily refined monocrystalline copper and the other half from silver-plated oxygen-free copper. On the headphone side, the cable uses a pair of 3.5mm TS connectors. The interchangeable termination system offers a 3.5mm and a balanced 4.4mm connector, along with 3.5mm to 6.35mm and 4.4mm to XLR-4 adapters. The package also includes two types of earpads, a transport case and a cleaning cloth.
