Beneath the watch's facade is a Smart Watch, like an extended phone on your hand, and is also an uncompromising sports monitor. The Garmin Fenix ??5 is equipped with a sensitive GPS/GLONASS receiver with a new steel EXO antenna located around the colour Chroma display. It remains switched on all the time. In normal use, the watch lasts for up to 12 days.

Fenix ??5 is one of the best equipped watches and offers a wide range of training features. These include different heart rate alarm settings, runtime, angularity, distance, performance. It is also possible to use pre-prepared training plans for running or cycling.
Swimming and skiing
The Garmin Fenix 5 is capable of using built sensors for high resistance swimming training and skiing. For swimming the watch measures mileage, SWOLF value, swimming efficiency, number of strokes and recognizes swimming style. For fans of winter sports, the Fenix ??5 offers cross country and downhill skiing features.Its built in barometer recognizes when you are skiing and when you are on the lift.
Wireless connectivity
The Fenix ??5 features the ability to connect to Android and iOS mobile smart phones via Bluetooth. The watch is then able to display the phone notification. With built in Wi-Fi, the watch is able to send training data or update software without having to switch on a computer or mobile phone. The wireless ANT+ standard can be used to connect fitness accessories.
