Garmin has equipped the Tactix 8 smartwatch with a brilliantly clear and bright 1.4-inch AMOLED display. To ensure the display stays in top condition during all your activities, the manufacturer has fitted it with durable sapphire glass. The back of the Garmin Tactix 8 smartwatch is made of titanium. You can fully rely on the smartwatch as it meets the strict conditions of the MIL-STD-810 military standard. The built-in battery keeps the Garmin Tactix 8 running for up to 29 days.
Built-in torch and excellent tactical features
The Garmin smartwatch is equipped with a powerful LED torch, which you'll appreciate when you need to read important information or are looking for something in your backpack after dusk. You can adjust the torch's intensity in several steps, and also choose between white or green light. The Garmin Tactix 8 also offers a range of tactical features, such as night vision support and Stealth Mode, in which the watch does not save/share its GPS position and turns off wireless communication technologies. You can also navigate to a specified point using the Project Waypoint function (using knowledge of the distance and azimuth to it). The Direct-to aviation function allows for quick entry of direct navigation to a destination. The Garmin Tactix 8 supports a ballistics calculator function.

The Garmin Tactix 8 smartwatch houses a built-in satellite receiver compatible with GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU, QZSS and GALILEO systems, giving you precise information about your current location. Modern SATIQ technology automatically determines the most suitable satellite signal mode at any given moment. If you often head into the field, you'll appreciate the ABC sensors (Altimeter, Barometer and a three-axis Compass) to make navigation easier. These sensors can be calibrated automatically, or you can calibrate them manually. Using the navigation function, you can automatically calculate a route to your destination or plan your own on a computer or mobile phone. You can do this via mapy.cz and the Garmin Connect log. Golf fans will appreciate the presence of golf course maps (CourseView). You can look forward to over 42000 golf courses from around the world. Skiers are similarly well-catered for, with 2000 resort maps (SkiView) prepared in the Garmin watch. In the Garmin Tactix 8, you can also view detailed TopoActive topographic maps, which can be downloaded for free.
Advanced sensors will continuously monitor your health
With the help of the watch, you can monitor your energy level, which helps you find out when the optimal time for training is and when it's appropriate to rest. The Garmin Tactix 8 provides you with accurate and clear data on your heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen saturation, stress level, and sleep duration and quality. The sleep advisor completely evaluates sleep quality and its stages and brings you insights that can help improve your overall sleep quality. The Tactix 8 can also detect naps and evaluate their impact on overall recovery. The Garmin smartwatch can determine your Body Battery or measure your breathing rate—day and night. It also includes a training readiness score, which shows on a scale of 1 to 100 whether it's a good day for more demanding physical activity. Based on sleep quality, recovery, training load and other factors, the Garmin smartwatch helps you decide whether it's time to push harder or take it easy.
Practical features of the Garmin smartwatch
The presence of NFC enables you to use the popular contactless payments with the Garmin Tactix 8 via Garmin Pay (if supported by your bank). Notifications for incoming emails or other alerts from apps installed on your paired smartphone are a given. The built-in microphone and speaker let you handle incoming calls from your paired phone. The Garmin Tactix 8 also offers a smart safety and tracking feature where, after pairing with your phone, you can share your current location with your contacts manually or, during selected outdoor activities, automatically send your location using the pre-set incident detection. The Garmin Tactix 8 has an integrated music player. Of course, you can also use streaming apps from compatible services (via a connected phone).

After pairing the Garmin Tactix 8 watch with the Garmin Connect mobile app via Bluetooth, your recorded activity is automatically transferred to your personal training log, where it is comprehensively evaluated. The individual values are displayed in the form of clear graphs, including a display of the training effect and recommended recovery time. The app and the user interface of the Garmin Tactix 8 smartwatch are fully localised into Czech.
