Perfectly legible display and large, backlit buttons
The large, illuminated buttons make it easy to press the right key. Calling important contacts is even quicker and easier if you save their number to one of the speed dial keys (A/B). And in an emergency, for example, you just need to press any of the keys to dial the assigned number. The large, backlit, black-and-white display can be set to the optimum contrast level. Jumbo mode increases the size of the numbers on the screen for dialling, so even long numbers are clear. If you want even simpler operation, the menu can be set to single-icon mode, which displays just one icon on the screen at a time.
Amplifier function and hearing aid compatibility
The phone's audio features can be customised to suit different needs. The ringtone volume and melody can be adjusted to suit you. Choose from five handset volume settings or double the call volume in the middle of a conversation using the amplifier function. Whether you're holding the handset or using hands-free mode, you can always enjoy clear sound and excellent voice reproduction as standard. Hearing aid compatibility and the ability to adjust the frequency range to suit your hearing make communication a pleasure for all ages.
Easy to install and use, no unwanted calls
Thanks to Plug & Play technology, you can get started in three steps – simply unpack, plug in and make a call. The side of the handset is textured for a good grip, while the intuitive menu design makes it easy to use. The extensive phonebook can hold up to 150 contacts. You can add up to 32 numbers to the 'blacklist' and decide whether calls should be blocked completely or just indicated with a visual signal. This also works for anonymous calls where no number is displayed.
ECO DECT technology
With the Gigaset E290HX, you no longer need a base station. The handset communicates directly with a DECT-enabled internet router via radio signals, giving you complete flexibility. If you'd like to expand your landline phone system, the phone can also be connected to a telephone base station. The phone is equipped with environmentally friendly ECO DECT technology. The phones are radiation-free in standby mode, even when using multiple handsets, provided that the base and all connected handsets support ECO DECT. During a call, the transmission power automatically adjusts to the distance between the handset and the base. The closer the base, the lower the radiation. For maximum DECT range, you can disable ECO DECT mode at any time.
