Herbion contains a dry extract of ivy leaf. Herbion is an herbal medicine used to expectorate mucus in wet (productive) coughs in adults, adolescents and children from 6 years of age. Herbion lozenges are light brown to brown round with bevelled edges and a rough surface. The lozenges may contain yellow to brown particles, lighter spots, air bubbles and may have uneven edges. The pack contains 16 traps.
Dosage and method of use
Adult dosage:
The usual dose for adults, the elderly and adolescents aged 12 years and older is 1 lozenge three times a day.
Dosing children:
The usual dose for children aged 6 to 11 years is 1 lozenge twice a day. Dissolve the lozenge in your mouth. Do not take the lozenges immediately before or during a meal. Drink plenty of water or other warm, caffeine-free drinks when taking Herbion.
Contraindications
Read the package leaflet carefully! Do not take Herbion if you are allergic to ivy leaf extract, to other plants in the Araliaceae family, or to any of the other ingredients in this product. Herbion is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not give this medicine to children under 2 years of age, as their breathing difficulties may worsen. Not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
Notice
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Herbion. - If you develop breathing difficulties, fever, or purulent mucus you must consult your doctor or pharmacist. - If your symptoms do not improve after 7 days of taking the medicine, you must see a doctor. - It is not recommended that you take this medicine with other medicines that suppress cough (antitussives such as codeine or dextromethorphan) without consulting your doctor. - If you have stomach problems (gastritis, stomach ulcer), you must take this medicine with caution.
Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the box and blister after EXP. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C. Keep in the original packaging to protect the product from moisture. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.
