In-Ear Headphones—Connection

Wired in-ear headphones(3.5mm Jack) - compared to similarly expensive wireless headphones, they sound better but don't offer as much freedom of movement.
Wireless in-ear headphones (Bluetooth) - thanks to the absence of a cable, they provide great freedom of movement (Bluetooth headphones have a range of about 10 metres from the playback device). They have a built-in battery and must be recharged.

In-Ear Headphones—Construction

Closed in-ear headphones - hardly any sound leaks out of the headphones; ambient noise cancelling.
Open in-ear headphones - provides more faithful music reproduction (less distortion); some sound escapes the headphones; without ambient noise cancelling.
Semi-closed in-ear headphones - a compromise between open and closed headphones, they partially let sound out of the headphones while cancelling some ambient noise.
