Intel is releasing already the 7th generation of its "i" processors, this time codenamed Kaby Lake. Basically, the architecture is similar to the previous successful Skylake series. Intel, however, has worked on optimizations and the result is a processor that delivers real performance growth while maintaining minimal energy demand.
The Kaby Lake architecture is based on the 14nm manufacturing process. This processor is equipped with AES-NI instructions that provide much better hardware support when working with encrypted drives, with a noticeable reduction in latency. The quad core Intel Core i7-7700T works reliably at high frequencies, up to 3.8GHz in the case of Turboboost.

Thanks to Intel's focus on optimizing existing technology, the new Kaby Lake processors are compatible with the already existing motherboards with 1151 slots. The only necessity is to verify compatibility with the motherboard manufacturer and make a relatively simple update of the UEFI environment.
