Korg handytraxx tube J is a portable record player focused on high-quality playback of vinyl records in a compact design. Stable playback with a JICO Clipper MM cartridge
Korg handytraxx tube J uses a belt-drive system with processor-controlled speed correction and a DC servo motor for stable platter rotation. The die-cast aluminium platter is complemented by a tonearm with an interchangeable headshell and an adjustable counterweight. The record player supports speeds of 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM, with a wow and flutter value of less than 0.15% WTD at 3kHz. The pre-installed JICO Clipper MM stereo cartridge features a balanced centre of gravity design between the left and right channels and is also compatible with JICO N44-7 and N44G styli. The signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 70dB according to DIN-B.
Phono preamp with Korg Nutube technology
The integrated phono preamp uses Korg Nutube technology and operates with an RIAA equalisation curve. The standard phono preamp gain is 38dB, and the tube section control lets you adjust the gain from 0 to 6dB. For further sound customisation, there are separate bass controls at 130Hz and treble controls at 5.5kHz, both with a range of ±8dB. The built-in stereo speakers deliver a maximum power of 2×2.5W, and the headphone output reaches a maximum power of 80mW at 32 Ohm. For connecting to an external audio system, you can use the line or separate phono output.
Portable design and vinyl digitisation
The USB Audio interface provides a two-channel PCM output with 16-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 44.1 or 48kHz via USB 2.0 Full Speed. By connecting the record player to a computer, you can convert vinyl recordings to digital format using suitable recording software. The record player can be powered by an AC adapter or six AA alkaline or NiMH batteries. The package includes an AC adapter, a dust cover, a platter, a belt, a platter mat, an EP adapter, a headshell with a pre-installed cartridge, a counterweight, and a platter mounting cover.
