Quiet membrane keyboard
The Korg nanoKEY Fold MIDI controller uses quiet membrane technology, which eliminates mechanical noise when keys are pressed. You have thirteen velocity levels to choose from. The key sensitivity precisely adapts to your individual playing style and touch strength. The octave shift range is from -4 to +4, and the transposition can be set from -12 to +12 semitones to suit any key.
Creative functions
The integrated arpeggiator offers fifteen different patterns and six arpeggio types across a range of one to four octaves. There are also fifteen scale types, complemented by visual guidance from LED lights. In chord mode, you can easily assign entire harmonic structures to individual keys. The arpeggiator's speed can be set from 1/1 to 1/64, and the note length from 1 to 15 for precise rhythmic structures.
Touch sliders and split mode
Two touch sliders provide smooth sound modulation and pitch bending. The Split function divides the keyboard into two independent zones with an adjustable split point from C#1 to C3. The sliders can trigger specific notes within the selected musical scale. The Control Change message range is 0 to 127. Splitting the keyboard makes it easier to play with both hands, where each part controls a different sound patch.
Connectivity options
Connection to other devices is handled by a USB-C interface and a TRS-MIDI connector. Power is supplied directly via the USB bus from a 5V DC source with a current of at least 550mA. An included TRS-MIDI DIN adapter ensures compatibility with older devices. For the MIDI Clock source, you can choose Auto, Internal, or External-USB modes to synchronise with external hardware or recording software.
Included software bundle
With the Korg nanoKEY Fold MIDI controller, you get access to licences for music programs and educational apps. The bundle includes tools like Ozone Elements from iZotope, the Skoove learning system, and Korg software synthesisers. It also comes with interactive keyboard lessons in the Melodics app. These tools and tutorials help users create, mix, and master tracks or develop their playing technique at various skill levels.
