The LEGRAND UPS Keor SPE Rack/Tower 2U 3000VA backup power supply with line-interactive topology provides stable power with an output of 2700W and an apparent power of 3000VA. This versatile model, designed for mounting in a 19" 2U rack or for vertical placement on the floor, features a clear LCD display for instant monitoring of its operational status. The integrated automatic voltage regulation system efficiently compensates for fluctuations in the electrical grid without unnecessarily draining the battery. The device operates in a wide temperature range from 0 to 40°C, which is suitable for standard server room climate conditions. The output voltage can be set in the range of 208 to 240V at a frequency of 50 to 60Hz. High efficiency in ECO-mode reduces thermal losses and lowers the operating costs for cooling the room.

Topology and performance

This backup power supply uses advanced line-interactive technology, which reliably protects connected devices from power outages and instability in the electrical grid. With a total efficiency of 85% and up to 98% in the energy-saving ECO-mode, it represents an energy-efficient solution for corporate infrastructure. The built-in automatic voltage regulation adjusts the input voltage within the 175 to 288V range and maintains stable output values without wearing down the internal batteries. The output power factor reaches 0.9, which meets the modern requirements of server power supplies.

Batteries and protection

The device's protection systems include advanced battery status monitoring and an automatic shutdown function to safely shut down connected systems. Power is supplied by a total of 6 VRLA lead-acid batteries, which are securely housed inside the chassis, weighing a total of 29.5kg. The system features deep discharge protection, which significantly extends the life of the entire battery bank. The cold start function enables the backup power supply to be started even when the primary electrical grid is completely without power.

Power management and communication interfaces

Connection to management servers and monitoring software is handled via the integrated communication ports on the rear of the device. Users have access to a USB interface and a potential-free contact for signalling operating states. Management within the local computer network is facilitated by the built-in interface for installing an SNMP card, which enables remote configuration and monitoring. Using dedicated software, you can set up automatic scenarios for the safe shutdown of operating systems during a prolonged power outage.

Connectivity and sockets

The input power is connected using a standardised C20 connector on the rear panel of the device. For distributing power to the protected devices, there is a set of power connectors that are fully backed up by the batteries. Users have 8 IEC C13 output sockets and 1 more powerful IEC C19 output socket available. The package also includes one IEC Jumper cable, which simplifies the connection of compatible network equipment and servers in the rack.

Construction and mechanical design

The design, with dimensions of 88 × 440 × 600mm, conforms to standardised dimensions for installation in rack cabinets. The flexible design makes it easy to change the orientation of the backup power supply from a horizontal position in the rack to a vertical position on its feet outside the rack. The cooling system generates 55dB of noise during operation at full load. The robust metal chassis with IP20 protection reliably protects the internal electronic components from the ingress of foreign objects.
