2001: Space Odyssey

A mysterious object is found in the lunar crater Tycho: a black monolith that sends a regular electromagnetic signal to one of Saturn's moons. This is the first time a human crew has been sent deep into the Solar System. Before it reaches its destination, it encounters strange technical difficulties that gradually grow to frightening proportions. Ship captain David Bowman must confront a failing ship system that turns a scientific mission into a fight for his life. Meanwhile, the black alien block on Japet is silent and waiting. Is there an answer to the eternal question of man's origin and his place in the universe? A journey beyond the limits of human experience, beyond space and time, pushing the boundaries of spoken word, music and sound.
