A call from nowhere

In the summer of 1960, the unwitting detective Ota Fink – a turner in civilian clothes – invites his tramp friends on a hike into the desolate forests of the disused military district near Holetín, where he was on military exercises in the spring. He unintentionally drags them all into a dark, bizarre adventure, which begins on the very first evening with the ringing of a field phone in the middle of a dark forest.

After meeting the commander of the Holetín garrison, the quirky Colonel Hlomoz, Ota begins to suspect an even darker mystery: Hlomoz' s beautiful wife, nicknamed Sulika, disappeared some time ago. There are rumors that she ran away with her lover, but that may not be true at all.

While a hastily assembled tramp band is winning at a dance party in Holetín, Otto is troubled by a strange message dictated to him by an unknown telephone operator. What secret does a carelessly locked concrete bunker hide? And what does Colonel Hlomoza know about this? Could Sulika still be alive?
