A double win

We all start our careers with good intentions. But as stress and tension increase at work, many of us fall for the 'hustle' fallacy. We tell ourselves: if I just push a little harder, I'll get it all done. But no matter how hard we work, our responsibilities always get ahead of us. We work more and sleep less, solving problems at the office while constantly creating new ones at home. We attend more and more meetings and miss more and more family dinners and get-togethers with friends. We assume that eventually we'll be able to take a break and focus on our health and relationships. But 'eventually' soon becomes a synonym for 'never'. Once some people discover this unpleasant truth, they slam the brakes on their ambition. But this choice also comes at a price. We end up with untapped potential, a lower income, and other losses. The stress and insane working hours may no longer be crushing our health or personal lives, but unfulfilled professional dreams and ambitions can crush our spirits in exactly the same way. Is there another solution? Is it possible to have time for a career, relationships, and even for yourself? It is possible, and that's exactly what this book is about: how to win at work and succeed in your personal life at the same time. Michael Hyatt is the founder and CEO of Michael Hyatt & Co.
