Al-Yaman: Insanyya - CD

The foundation of this original music is the unmistakable voice of Ashwaq, who sings in Arabic, and the excellent fusion of oriental motifs with current dance and electronic trends, curated by Aleš Hyvnar. In terms of genre, the music of Al-Yaman is difficult to categorise. It blends influences from styles such as dub, rock, electronica, ambient, bhangra, and more. The original line-up has seen a change in the bassist, with Jan Lstibůrek being replaced by Jan Urbanec.

Tomáš Reindl plays percussion and didgeridoo, with Jonathan Omer (Israel) on drums. A fantastic guest on the album is Amit Chatterjee (India/USA), an outstanding world-class multi-instrumentalist, who provided vocals on three tracks. Aleš Hyvnar's perfectionism is clearly evident on the recording; he has meticulously crafted each song, giving it a unique atmosphere.
