American Night - DVD

French director Ferrand begins shooting his new film at the Victorine studios in Nice: "I present to you Pamela." As always, it's busy right from the start: The filming gets better and worse, the actors are moody, the complicated love relationships in the crew and the demands of the producer contribute to the nervousness.
Ferrand wonders if he will ever make his film.

With American Night, Francois Truffaut answers the question that all film fans ask themselves: "what's going on behind the cameras? " He films the shoot as it really is. Directly, without exaggeration, with honesty and precision, so that his film gives an almost documentary impression.
