Fantastic story about a young pastry chef, who from his youth suffered ridicule for his name, Anastasius Cochcorad, and who, over his enemies, who mocked his billboard in the city, he's matured by that he has mastered the art of magic, made them enjoy the cat roast and had many other happy and adventurous stories.
The author is Rudolf Slawitschek (1880 -1945), a Prague German writer and native of Malá Strana. His most successful work is the fantastic story Anastasius Katzenschlucker, the Great Magician, first published in German as Anastasius Katzenschlucker, der große Zauberer. František Jílek plays the title role of Anastázio Kočkoráda and Viktor Preiss is the narrator with an engaging voice. Aleš Procházka as the chief magician Habakuk Lvi Pysk also excels in other roles, Petr Čtvrtníček as a Turkish magician, Jarmila Švehlová as an old cat, Zdeněk Maryška as a robber knight, David Jan Jílek as mayor of Budějovice, the raven and the mouse prince, Michal Vejskal as a chimney sweep, František Jílek Jr. as a young juggler, Nikola Jílková as the little Gretel and Václav Marhoul the younger as the council servant.
