Kristýna Sněgoňová

Kristýna Sněgoňová (* 1986) became the bestselling author in Czech fantasy with her very first book. *Krev pro rusalku* (Blood for the Rusalka, 2018), a gritty noir detective story, introduced a world of fae living on the fringes of society and working as prostitutes. The sequel, *Krev pro divoženku* (Blood for the Wild Woman), was released in 2024. Her most successful work is her post-apocalyptic trilogy, *Město v oblacích* (City in the Clouds, 2020), *Země v troskách* (Land in Ruins, 2021), and *Svět v bouři* (World in the Storm, 2022), in which people must leave their fortified cities built above the ground to discover what happened to their world and whether there is any hope of return. This series has also become popular in Poland (*Miasto w chmurach*, 2024). Kristýna Sněgoňová is also the editor of an urban fantasy anthology and the author of a fairytale book for children. Together with František Kotleta, she created *Legie* (The Legion), a fascinating space opera that has not only gained tens of thousands of enthusiastic readers but has also seen numerous reprints. The *Atomové šelmy* (Atomic Beasts) series is another joint project from these seasoned authors.

František Kotleta

František Kotleta (* 1979) already has his own shelf in bookshops, and it's no wonder – he is the bestselling and most popular author in Czech fantasy. He achieved this status with his *Bratrstvo krve* (Brotherhood of Blood) series (2010). Also legendary is the *Spad* (Fallout) series, which is about the world after a third world war, followed by the two-part *Underground* and a series of paranormal detective stories featuring private investigator Tomáš Kosek. He followed this with *Kyberpunková swingers party* (Cyberpunk Swingers Party), where his daughter Eva takes over the fight against demons, magic, and old gods. With Kristýna Sněgoňová, he created the twelve-part space saga *Legie* (The Legion), which tells the story of the crew of the spaceship Kraksna as they fight against an alien invasion. Behind the pseudonym is journalist and screenwriter Leoš Kyša, author of the acclaimed detective novel *Sudetenland*, set in an alternate reality where the expulsion of Germans from the Czechoslovak borderlands never happened, and the near-future crime story *Syndikát* (The Syndicate). His books are successfully published in Poland and also in the USA. As an editor, he is behind several sold-out anthologies of Czech and Slovak fantasy.
