Auschwitz Music: Podruhé - CD

The dulcimer music from Osvětiman celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 2023. The popular CD from 2004 and the archive recordings are no longer available. That is why, again and FOR THE SECOND time after almost twenty years, a newly mastered CD is being released in a renewed form, expanded with archive images from 2004 and 2006. The CD reminds us of the songs and sitting around the dulcimer in the cellar of U rytíře Smetana, at the IFF Strážnice and at the Slovácké roku in Kyjov, but above all the opportunity to return to traditions and folk songs. The first part of the CD consists of a recording from a concert in Ždánice (1984) and recordings from the year 1984. 1983 (frames 2-7), the second (8-22) recordings from the Auschwitz CD shoot in 1983. 2004. At that time, besides the band members, guest musicians from the music of Jury Petru and Tetka from Uherské Ostroh joined in, with advice and help from Jaromír Nečas and Jiří Plocek. In the renewed CD we bring as a bonus an archive recording from the Auschwitz performances in 2004 and 2006 (23-25). "Some of us learned to play instruments for the band. There were already big bands in Kyjov and Hradiště at that time, but there was nothing like that in the vicinity of Oswietimany," recalled one of the two primates, Ludvík Běťák. Music also gave joy at the festival in Strážnice or Kyjov. One of the most prominent personalities of Moravian folklore, Jaromír Nečas, noticed it there and brought the Oswietiman dulcimer music to the studio for recording. Recently, the music has been performed in public only rarely. "Our average age is over seventy. One person from Kyjov called us the band 5B, which means five times bypass. But I think there won't be that many more, and we are still young in spirit," added Ludvík Běťák with a smile.
