Azhareida

It is the end of the thirty-first century, and for the colonists of the Ephesus star system, Earth is but a half-forgotten memory. The hunger for resources brings the descendants of Earthlings to the icy moon of Megan, shrouded in clouds of freezing, deathly poisonous fog. David Grinil, a member of an inspection team investigating the situation on Megan, joins his colleagues in following the trail of unexplained deaths among the local workers. They are up against not only the inhospitable alien world but also the management of the mining company, who refuse to allow any disruption to their work. David and his friends gradually uncover a secret that should have never been revealed, finding themselves in mortal danger, trapped between the dehumanised machinery of a powerful corporation and the world outside that seems to furiously hate anything human. A novel from the distant future, this is a solid hard sci-fi story with elements of a thrilling detective plot and a stunning action finale.
