badfocus: meditating while raving - LP

Badfocus is a talented music producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist from Prague. Although his artistic roots are predominantly jazz, he has been influenced by classical music, electronic, hip-hop and indie. His work is characterized by constantly evolving soundscapes, rich sonic textures creating a specific space and an intensely intimate experience.
He has already released several EPs, his debut album wallflower (2020) and the soundtrack to the dance film Laterna magika new normal (2021). Now, after singles beyond minds and dystopia, he comes with a new album meditating while raving, which is released digitally and on vinyl by Supraphon. The album is conceptually about duality, about the way opposites need each other and their dynamics. It is characterized by the ambivalence of inner peace and tension in the form of meditation and rave experience.
Under the name badfocus he regularly performs on the domestic and international scene. During his performances he sensitively combines live and electronic instruments, which he combines very non-violently into one organic whole. The musical production is complemented by a light show, which here and there disappears in a misty haze of smoke, as well as its individual musical motifs.
The specific feature of the vinyl record cover is a uniquely designed graphic that, when scanned, displays a specially created AR filter. This added value combines the world of digital technology with the timelessness of a vinyl record.
