In the spring of 2020, we will open a new branch of the Star Bazaar, where we employ people with spinal cord injuries, which are difficult to apply on the labor market due to incomplete education and insufficient practice. However, the premises in Karlín are still unsatisfactory. Many barrier-free modifications are required so that wheelchair users can work comfortably here. We will use the money to co-finance an expensive ramp and shop equipment so that customers can be served by wheelchair users themselves.

About Star Bazaar
There are over 8,000 wheelchair users with spinal cord injuries in the Czech Republic, and about 150 more are added each year. The jobs of vendors in the Star Bazaar are intended for people who have not completed their education due to an accident, do not have experience or cannot perform their profession. In the Star Bazaar, we offer stylish second-hand clothes and accessories from everyone who wants to help us, including a number of celebrities.
He played games for many years, now the salesman Vlada works and has a family
One of those that Star Bazaar helped bring back to life is the salesman Vlada. The accident happened to a young police officer at the age of 21. He resigned after trying in vain to find work. He sat at home playing computer games for over 15 years. When he fell in love with a nurse, he longed for work and an active life. He got a job at the Star Bazaar. This year, Vláďa married his nurse.

We are a non-profit organization helping people who are left with a wheelchair after spinal cord injury to integrate into everyday life as soon as possible. We offer wheelchair users a wide range of services.

The long-term director of the Czech Association of Paraplegics, Alena Jančíková, in addition to running the organization, focuses mainly on commenting on legislation and enforcing the necessary legislative changes in order to defend the interests of wheelchair users. In 2013, she received the Olga Havel Award, in 2015 she received a silver commemorative medal from the Senate of the Czech Republic.
