Bat Soul

On the eve of his fiftieth birthday, social novelist Daniel Rys has finally found a partner who almost perfectly fulfils his fantasies. Alice is young, pretty, smart, and even single, which most of his former loves were not. Like Dan, she rides a motorcycle and her job is to sit up at night translating English. Alice's little excesses in the intimate sphere are more of a bonus than a hindrance for Dan, but he can hardly know what they portend. With the dexterity of an elephant in porcelain, he gradually loses the security he counted on in his relationship. And just when it looks like it can't get any worse, Dan manages to destroy almost everything he's ever cared about with his next life turn.
