Beatles: Rubber Soul - LP

Rubber Soul is the sixth studio album by the British rock band The Beatles. The album was released in December 1965 and was produced by George Martin. Rubber Soul was recorded in four weeks for release at Christmas. It was one of the band' s greatest artistic achievements, both critically and commercially. In 2003, it took fifth place in Rolling Stone magazine' s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

The Beatles were an English rock' n' roll band from Liverpool. Its members were John Lennon (vocals, backing guitar), Paul McCartney (vocals, bass guitar), George Harrison (solo guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, occasionally singing). It is one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music. The Beatles' music is still played and popular around the world. When the renowned music magazine Rolling Stone compiled a list of the best albums in the history of popular music in 2003, the Beatles reached the top ten a total of four times (including 1st place behind Sgt. Pepper' s Lonely Hearts Club Band).

The Beatles are the best-selling band in the history of the United States, according to the RIAA, which has named them the best-selling band in history based on the sale of singles and albums in America. In the UK, the Beatles have released more than 40 different singles, albums and records, which have topped the charts. This commercial success has been repeated in many other countries. Their recording company EMI estimated that by 1985 they had sold over a billion records and cassettes worldwide. In 2004, Rolling Stone Beatles ranked first in the list of the 100 greatest artists in history. According to the magazine, their innovative music and cultural influence helped characterize the 1960s, and their influence on popular culture is still evident today.

The Beatles led the British music invasion of the United States in the mid-1960s. Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and domestic skiffl, the band tried many different genres from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. With their clothing, styles and sayings, they determined the trends of their time, while their growing interest in social issues influenced the social and cultural upheavals of the 1960s.
