The first case of the legendary Harry Bosch
The now iconic detective Harry Bosch was introduced to readers in 1992 and soon joined the ranks of the most famous figures of the American hardboiled school, such as Phil Marlowe and Steve Carella. The Black Echo, which we are preparing for publication in a completely new translation, is Bosch's first case.
The dead man found at the Mulholland Dam outfall is much more to Harry than just another entry in the crime victim statistics. He served with Billy Meadows in the Vietnam War; tunnel rats, they were called. They went through hell together. And now it's as if history is about to repeat itself. At least for Harry.
His search leads him into the tangle of dark tunnels beneath the city, where all the ancient horrors of war come alive. But only there can it unravel the network of organised criminals and drug traffickers, aided and abetted by corrupt state officials at the top.
