Black Hatred

In Boston, there’s hardly anyone who doesn't want them dead

A group of powerful politicians offers Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro a large sum for a small favour: find a missing cleaning lady who has stolen top-secret documents.
But…
The cleaning lady turns out to be a wife and mother. The documents, photographs of a scandalous nature. Suddenly, a simple theft reveals something much more complex than it first appeared. What the woman truly sought was justice – and on the streets of Boston, the truth can easily turn against you. Whether Patrick and Angela like it or not, solving a case that isn't just about good and evil turns them into hunted prey. And in Boston, there’s hardly anyone who doesn't want them dead. There's nothing left but to drink to this war. The chances of them surviving are minimal.

Filip Švarc

His parents signed his first film contract when he was six, which was followed by guest appearances in children's roles at the Vinohrady Theatre and the E. F. Burian Theatre. In 1989, he enrolled at the Prague State Conservatory, where he successfully graduated with a degree in acting six years later. After several years as a guest actor at the ABC Theatre in Prague, he now focuses mainly on voice acting. He also spent eleven years behind the microphone at Fajn Rádio. He masterfully applies his experience from voice acting and theatre to narrating audiobooks.

Dennis Lehane

One of America's most popular authors, not of detective stories, but of true crime novels. This descendant of Irish immigrants always knew he wanted to be a writer. He wrote the first draft of his book at the age of 25, just out of boredom, but at the time it ended up in a drawer. Lehane had to go through clearing tables, parking cars, driving limousines, working in a bookshop, and defending abused children before he enrolled in a creative writing course and rewrote his first manuscript several times until it was finally accepted by a publisher and he became a bona fide author.
The heroes of his popular Boston series are private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro. However, after five books with them, the author wanted to try something new, which led to the international bestseller *Mystic River*. It brought Lehane fame and prestige, and its film adaptation, directed by Clint Eastwood, won two Academy Awards.
After such staggering success, the author could afford to teach the very writing courses he once attended himself… He also joined the writers of the HBO crime series *The Wire* as a screenwriter, for which he, along with George Pelecanos and other creators, received an Edgar Award for Best Television Miniseries. The fourth book in the Kenzie/Gennaro series, *Gone, Baby, Gone*, was adapted into a film in 2007, directed by Ben Affleck.
