Blood Diamond - Blu-ray

A former mercenary, now a diamond smuggler (Leonardo DiCaprio) and a simple fisherman (Djimon Hounsou) find themselves in the middle of a civil war in Sierra Leone in 1999. The two men join forces in a desperate mission: to retrieve a rare pink diamond of incalculable value and to rescue a fisherman's son who has been dragged away by rebels and taught to kill. Images of cruel torture and bloodshed are interspersed with beautiful scenery and war-ravaged landscapes. Directed by Edward Zwick (Glory, The Last Samurai), this urgent and moving adventure shapes thrilling human destinies and breathtaking action into a modern epic with a profound message.
