Blue Effect: World of Searchers - CD

Anniversary reissue of the legendary art-rock album World of Seekers by Blue Effect. This year is a multi-significant year for the commemoration of this record, originally made in 1979.

In addition to the major anniversaries, i.e. the seventy-fifth anniversary of singer/keyboardist/composer Leszek Semelka and the same, but unfortunately not yet completed anniversary of guitarist, composer and bandleader Radim Hladik, there are also variously rounded reminders of the departures of drummer Vlado Čech and lyricist Pavel Vrba. All of them - and also another singer/keyboardist Oldrich Vesely, artist Petr Sís and photographer Alan Pajer - have a major contribution to the album released under the forced title M. Effect. The extensive compositions, poetic lyrics (all of which can be found in the booklet) and musicianship fit perfectly into the sound era of, for example, English Yes, but with undoubted domestic specialties.

The five compositions include at least two in a completely different line-up of the band that were often played later, namely Searching for My Own Self and Rajky. The second of them in concert form from 2007 forms the conclusion of seven CD bonuses, supplementing the album's starting points with period-related singles, whether M. Effect or a looser Semelka-Hladík-Cech lineup. An essential challenge for anyone with a taste for arranged, listener-demanding rock that never lacks strong melodies, suitably fanciful lyrics, appealing instrumental performances and exceptional singing.
