The book has continued to capture the hearts of children for almost 150 years. It is also an important work for the Disman Radio Children's Ensemble, which was founded by director Miloslav Disman in 1935. During the oppressive times of the Second World War, the ensemble performed Karafiát's Fireflies as a stage play more than 300 times in Prague and on tours throughout the Protectorate. However, we have been missing a radio version performed by the Disman children until now. The legacy of Fireflies in the ensemble's ninety-year history is also reflected in the accompanying graphics for the new adaptation. This design connects children's lined paper, the current visual identity of the Disman children, with pictures drawn by child visitors to the Intimate Theatre more than 80 years ago, which Miloslav Disman saved in the radio archive.
