Burian Jan: Ghost Hour / Poetry (2x CD) - CD

For Burian's March half-rounds, here's a reminder of his two very rewardingly collective albums!

At the time of its creation, in the late 1980s, Ghost Hour became a universally praised project, linking songwriting with the studio technology of the time. Producer Dan Fikejz at the helm of Machines and Men helped find that poetics surprisingly supportive of the machinery, still fully functional today. The album thus became a sonically attractive, yet still intimate account of one man's great troubles and small joys at the desired end of real socialism.

Poesie, a few years younger, seemingly dared a lot. Again, quite electrified, but this time to the words of poets with a hallmark of diverse classicality: Biebl, Hal, Shramek, Brousek, Dyk, Wernisch, Fritz, Gellner, But Hiršal (and Burian + Dědeček) were certainly not lost in the noise and bustle of the instruments. Jan Burian, composing and singing, met this great poetic challenge with gusto and ease.

Two extraordinary albums with all the lyrics and in a great package!
